Found a box at a great price that'll need some work and I need to know what order these things come apart.

I've got the Haynes Manual I've been meaning to scan for those what need it - now would probably be a good time.

Somewhere on the web there's a Datsun service manual for this gearbox. I found it by Googling "Datsun B210 gearbox" or something similar. I have a hard copy, but nothing on my computer.

Maybe someone here will chime in? The Datsun service manual is available, free of charge, I think.

I have 6 or 8 Datsun 210 manuals, mostly gotten at used book stores (or Goodwill) for a couple of bucks each (and about 5 more with the Morrisservice stuff that I just got).
"Half-Price Books" is a great place to look

Bill, where are ya brother???? I'm DYING to take this thing apart !!!!!

After you remove all 3 of the electrical switches from the side then remove the speedo pinion, remove the stopper pin bolt (holds the shifter slider in), remove return spring plug, spring and plunger (right side just forward of the stopper pin bolt). Remove reverse-check-sleeve assy. Remove front cover (SAVE ALL SHIMS). Remove front snap-ring.
NOW unbolt back housing and pull rear housing off (using a big-a$$ gear puller)
... and call me in the morning!
Bill

I got the rear housing off, it's the front I don't know how to remove. I pulled off everything you mentioned. My trans guy should be in tommorrow. He's out due to a knee injury.

The rivergate site has the complete datsun 210 manual, it is a PDF file anyone can download. It is the best manual you will find, all your questions will be answered. Wil at rivergate has good prices and excellent service, he has rebuilt several hundred. I have called him a few times and he was always very helpful.

Ok so I don't need to scan it then.

Finally got it apart. I didn't see the outer snap ring on the input shaft bearing, only the inner. I have to say I am VERY VERY VERY happy with what I found inside. it's 100 times better than I thought it would be.

ooooooow BABY !!!!!!!
