TR4/4A Dash/Crash pads - differences in quality between vendors?

I've started shopping for new dash pads for my '62 TR4 and I'd like to figure out of one vendor is better than the others. TRF's catalogs claim theirs are superior to the other repros out there and it's reflected in the price. I'm curious if anyone has experience with the various versions available and has an opinion on the quality. I'm certainly willing to pay a premium for the TRF pads if it's worth it.

I have two tr4's both of them have the TRF INTERIORS INCLUDING THE DASH PIECES. I AM HAPPY WITH THEM. NO EXPERIENCE WITH THE MOSS INTERIOR.

I too have used the TRF crash pads. I will say however the color black is just a shade lighter than the originals so if you are using some original and some reproduction ones there is a slight difference in color. Black is not always black! I will add that the fit was perfect using the TRF supplied pads.

dashcomplete.jpgI used the Moss pads on my dash, they look great, and fit well. I have not compared them side by side with the TRF pads however.

I used the ones from TRF - but as I recall, as of a few years ago they all came from one source (I remember that because the 'one source' had health problems and for a time none were available).

The ones I got looked like modern vinyl which is designed to look more like leather (little gloss). The originals (on mine) were fairly glossy - looked like vinyl. I used a spray on gloss to get a more original look (then I use a black dash mat to eliminate the reflection - oh well.

For those of you using the TRF pads - does your lower right pad have the grab handle? I can see that the Moss pad above does, but have heard the TRF ones do not. My '62 original has the handle.

The ones I got from TRF (about 14 years ago) had the handle but one has to reuse/obtain the metal plate that forms the backside of the handle.

Same with my more recent Moss purchase Geo. Have to reuse the metal plate for the handle.
