Gentlemen,
To close this out...
The glow on my taillights is from a faulty, partially shorted original brake light switch... As I was working away at finding the fault I noted a little smoke rising from the switch.... It is permanently and partially in the ON position.....
While I was at it, I fixed the turn signals, and a bunch of other stuff. While working on the wiring harness under the dash a few weeks ago I had inadvertently disconnected the power line from the gas gauge that feeds into the signal relay!?!? Now works perfectly...
As my ditty had said
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]Ah, the smell of ozone while the wires glow
the electrons a shortcut they did go
you can sit and ponder the reasons why
as the harness so costly it did fry
The smoke in the air it did rise
'tis Lucas electric, no surprize [/QUOTE]
Although in all fairness to LUCAS, this was not a problem particular to LUCAS' electrics...
NOW WHILE I AM AT IT... Does anyone know if there is a pressure brake switch for any other car that will fit where the original one is installed in the A???
