When Pedro's fuel line burst, I did not immediately
react to saving the gas. Then it hit me and I grabbed
the first container with any volume to it.
A plastic kitchen scrub basin with plastic grocery
store bags in it. The grocery store bags dissolved
in the gasoline. I used this to catch and transfer
the gas to other containers. Now I have 2 five gallon
jugs and one 2 gallon jug of bad gas.
The gasoline is contaminated with dissolved plastic.
What would happen if I poured it into a used oil recycle
drum? I just thought of this. We have a few of these here
and there for public use.

If the authorities are that strict rest assured that they will test what-ever you are pouring into the recyclable waste oil drum. They test it here if they don't know ya.
Around here you have to bring it to a hazardous waste recycling center or find some hazardous fluid disposal company that can take it. Some of the larger factories also can burn it in there heating furnaces.
I agree with Paul, get a pair of old nylon stockings, pantyhose, or a white cotton tee shirt and strain the gas into a clean container and use it in the lawn mower or as a starter fluid for the fire pit.
Some have heard me preach this before! No, the gas probably won't explode but one day while you're just standing there with an open flame (just takes a lit cigarette or cigar) you will see this arc of flame fly over your head and ignite the gas in what ever container is leaking the fumes from across the room. It's really hot and the excitement level can't be beat.

I agree with KC_Doyle. Filter the stuff as best you can, Get out the big pieces and run it through the lawn mower. Give some to the neighbors to run through thiers too. I wouldn`t recomend throwing it on as a fire starter, It can and most likely will go whoosh when you light it. If it has NO visible Chunks of debris in it, I wouldn`t hesitate to run it through my truck {that bleeping gas hog wouldn`t care anyway /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

Over 15 years ago when he was still a teenager...
A co-worker of mine was cleaning rust out of a gas tank. He had a few pails of freshly drained gas sitting in the garage and was using some old freon from a tank to blow the rust out of the tank without removing it from the car. The water heater turned on across the room and they saw flames darting in the air everywhere. They quickly took the pails of gasoline outside, and the fire department put out the fire before it burned the garage all the way down. He no longer keeps any extra gas in the garage.
Only the vapors caught on fire -not the liquid.
Maybe you've got some kid with a go-cart that would be happy to take your gas just the way it is.

hey cuz, Haven't you replaced your incandescent scew in bulbs with the curly fluorescent replacements? A lot less susceptible to sparking if you break one.
At the stage of completion that you have Amos, I wouldn't invest in a lot of tools that you may never need again. So, unless you're buying another LBC, or going to go into the TR repair business(and believe me the quality of your work is better than a lot of shops I deal with regularly) I see no need to invest in a lot of tools that are going to just be sitting.
