Correct wheels, studs and lug nuts?

Thought about converting back to OEM wire wheels, but I hear that is not fail safe either.

If so that might be good since if the PO drilled and tapped new holes for his 'fix' you may still have the original holes to work with.

Your immediate problem is not the wheels.
1. If the hardware store bolts were run through the original stud holes we need to know if the holes in the hub were ruined or not.
2. If NEW holed were created the wheels you have may not have the lug holes at the correct diameter.

Why don't you take a picture so that we can see the rear hubs from straight on so that we can figure out what holes are there and what were added.

Also try to figure out how to get those horrible bolts out. It will probably be easiest to back them out somewhat, cut off the head and then thread them out of the hub.

As for the wheels, if they lug diameter "PCD" is correct then they can be made to work. You will need longer studs but they are available so that is not a problem.
