Is there a way to adjust clutch engagement and disengagement? My clutch releases with less pedal movement than I like, and the Bentley manual doesn't show any adjustment. Thanks,
Since it is a hydraulic clutch, there is not adjustment. It should be fully engaged about half way up. I would check the rod on the slave cylinder to see if it might have elongated. That could cause less travel in the slave.
The other thing to check is at the clevis pin and pedal under the pedal box cover. The pin and pedal should have a good fit, NO freeplay to speak of... if the pin/pedal are worn you will have noticeable lack of travel at the slave cylinder.
I have plenty of travel, the clutch releases and re-engages after 1/4 down and 3/4 up on pedal. My TR4 has a threaded rod at the slave for adjustment, hoped the MG had the same. Oh well. Thanks,
ah. Sounds like you may be in for a clutch R&R in the future. When you said "less pedal movement" I misinterpreted it to mean it was coming in too close to the board. Sorry.
