classic car insurance

I use Hagerty. I had a claim a while back and they were tops in my book! Extremely nice to talk to, very generous on the claim and they don't hound you about Sunday drives either! PJ

Am not! :laugh:

When this came up a few years ago, there was mention that you needed a lockable garage for you collectable car. This was a problem for those with share parking structures in condos and appartments.
I have Hagerty. Nice people. I've had no clames but they here VERY helpful when I tried to get a law changed in California to use year of manufacture plates.

Johnny,
That is one of those questions that may need a little interpretation. they are very concerned about the use of classic cars as regular transportation. I would think that the question would be better stated in a way that denotes primary usage for emergencies such as their questions about primary vehicles nad usage. Obviously using the car in an emergency would denote much higher risk to the vehicle and thus they do not want to insure that risk. This is why they and the others need proof of a primary vehicle to write the policy. Now in reality, should there be an emergency and the classic was the only one around, of course you would use it. Hagerty's policy does not limit coverage in this manner so you would have coverage.

Well as the American Indian use to say: Sounds like they are talking out of both sides of their mouth to me.--Keoke

Sorry Steven, but again
"I applied online and they denied my insurance because I answered this question;
"would you use your classic car in an emergency?" I answered of course I would. I was denied for that reason alone."
