Its just around the corner. Ya'll ready? Do you like it when Santa brings surprises?

I do, I do, I do.....

Interesting tidbit: the 2 largest holidays in the country based on how much $$$ people spend are Halloween & Christmas. How appropriate (or not)?

Looking forward to a stocking filled with coal. I've already received a lot this year.

Went from a Ford Ranger and Honda Civic to the much neater cars in my stable now.

Life is good.

Christmas pffft that talk should of ended weeks ago. I'm expecting the easter decorations to show up at the stores any day now.

Oh, yes. Particularly when they're out in the garage and not under the tree....

Now how do I wrap a 5 speed gearbox? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The knob goes under the tree.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

The rest rests out in the garage and who's to tell the wife that there's more than knob? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

AAAAHHHHHGGG Christmas! not yet! of course the BCF has had christmas decorations up all year anyway (look at the pub forum icon)
We're just ahead of the curve /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I feel a Jingle-Bell Rallye coming on... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Ah, its finally time to get out my old 1930 vintage Lionel Standard gauge train set. SWMBO only lets me get out during Christmas. We always put it under our tree. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Actually...no.

https://www.snopes.com/holidays/halloween/spending.asp

It ranks 6th overall at about $5 billion in spending behind:

1. Winter holidays (Christmas): $457.4 billion

2. Mother's Day: $13.80 billion

3. Valentine's Day: $13.70 billion

4. Easter: $12.63 billion

5. Father's Day: $9.01 billion

That being said- I think that it is trending upwards and I can see a day when that happens.

Oh, are we going to do something special for Christmas Basil?? Might be a good time to think about that.

Yeah, but too often the "surprise" is some weird golf trinket. Relatives/kids know I play golf so I get golf bookends, golf pictures, exploding golf balls) or another shirt with golf bags or something. Not really ungrateful but don't really want/need another. They also know I have cars! Maybe they need ideas and I could register at Moss, Roadster Factory or VBr? Then have folks choose from my favorite accesories/parts? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Oh, good idea Janel kind of like registering for weding stuff. Wonder if Moss could accomidate that?

When my daughter goes to Moss to buy my Christmas gifts, my guy knows her so he sells to her at my price - I told her she needs to buy more so she's investing "retail" in me....hehehe

*snicker*

anyone remember last year's BCF decorations? They were neat for a day or two... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Was that the snow flakes? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif

Christmas usually means another MOSS order here too....Kids have had a MOSS wishlist since they were about 8 years old, SWMBO will probably get something for her MGA, and I usually get tools,TC parts, or furniture(I have a thing for antique furniture and artwork). It's kinda like Christmas is a time to shower our cars with gifts....kinda ironic - maybe not.

The local Sam's club (and a couple other places) thought Christmas was "just around the corner" on July 5th. Didn't you get the memo?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
