What's not to like, a LBC with lots of power, don't get that very often.

Little car, big engine, life is good.

Who ever said size doesn't matter?!?

This project makes me feel "not so bad" about the money I am putting into my TR 10 restromod.

1500 Spitfire drivetrain with Weber Downdraft, Mild Cam, higher compression, Monza exhaust. Extra power to run the air conditioning (its hot in Fresno). Alternator instead of generator.

TR10 has the goofiest front suspension Triumph ever built: all the pivot points are thread on thread, to be lubed every thousand miles. We are rebuilding the front end to replace the pivots with MGB bushings.

Looks like rustrocket has gotten around this problem...

You know, all that being said...It's the exact reason why i decided to go this route to begin with. I loved the wagon...Sure, i could've just thrown some coilovers on the front, some custom fiberglass leafs in the rear and a shock conversion...but in the end, i'd still be relying on 50 year old british technology and safety standards, not to mention, dealing with hard as heck to find partd. I think the mgb bushing will make a bit of difference. Have you investigated making tubular control arms that you can adust? What's the extent of your "restomod" anyway?

I feel pretty bad about all the money i've spent on the car, and things have been such a bigger pain then i would have hoped or imagined. I'm close to $15k or so just in chassis work (labor and materials) :-/ . This better be a darn fun grocery getter/track machine!! The thing that keeps me going is the thought of rolling up next to a new Z06 vette and leaving it in a cloud of tire smoke, or flogging the local mountain roads in the wee hours of the morning.

What do you guys think?

So, i'm obviously going to need some extra room to put the 255 and 275 tires.

I know i'm going to have to open up the wheel arches for clearance, as the 17" wheels/tires are a couple inches taller than stock...But as far as widening the flares, i've been looking into the datsun style ZG flares. I found somebody who makes wide ones, which would give me about 3.5" or so on each side. what do you guys think? This seems like a very cost effective and decent looking option.

Re: What do you guys think?

Are you going to weld the back doors closed?

If not, will you flair that part of the wheel well also? Seems that welding the doors shut would be a lot less body work.

How far back will the seats sit from the original position?

This is probably the best pic to show how far back the seat will be:

So, about 1/3 way into the rear doors. Its actually a huge pain in the ass to get into, especially for somebody my size. But I'd like to avoid welding them shut, as i think having 4 functional doors is kinda sweet. I can always cut the fender flare at the door.

I got a ride in a friend's nissan today, which weighs 2500 pounds and makes about 220-230 horsepower at the wheels. It was nuts, definitely got thrown back in the seat. I cant wait to feel double the horsepower in this beast. *sigh* hopefully more progress soon

This Update has been long in coming, but there's been some good progress made.

As of x-mas, it should be a full roller. All it will nbeed is fuel lines, wiring, and tin work (floors/wirewall). Paint can wait...it doesn't make the car go any faster.

WOW! You've been busy!

Ok, forgive the cell phone pics...My main camera's battery was dead. Exhaust is all finished up. Routing the fuel and brake lines, and then this stage is done. Then time for bodywork!
