Check out my 58 Wagon...Purists be warned!!

Ah.....reminds me of a friend in college who had a 48 Anglia....with a 289....aluminium firewall, and trans cover, firewall set back a BUNCH.....LONG steering column.....old Chevy P/U 6-bolt solid front axle.....bottom of back seat removed, front seat moved back until the back of the front seat contacted the front of the back seat.

Anything over 60MPH on the freeway, the little 8 or 10" steering wheel could be rotated full left and full right with the car never changing direction.

Yours looks like it will track MUCH better!

Shameless plug for my friend who installed the cam and did some other engine work for me.

I am not to far from San Jose, I sure would like to see this Brute in person!!

Um....forget DMV....you're gonna need to register that thing with NASA!!!

Very nice exhaust note
good job

It's straight headers now, but i don't know how much quieter it will be with the mufflers on it.

Today, i started it up in the backyard, revved it to 3500 a couple times, and shut it down. Within 3 or 4 minutes, my neighbor from 4 houses down (who was inside his house when i was running the engine), came over and told me how great it sounded!

Tony - i envy your car collection! Thanks for the compliments.

I plan to post driving videos this weekend.

Edit - i just noticed in the video how responsive that engine is! when backing off the throttle, the revs drop immediately!

A lot of LBC's take individualized "tricks" for starting....just this much choke, just this much throttle.

But, you're going to have to figure out something else when you finally install that windscreen.

You ain't gonna be able to reach through like that to the ignition when you're tweaking the throttle to get it lit.

Got wheelie bars on it?

You're too funny  I start it that way because i don't have a gas pedal yet! Otherwise it'd be perfectly functional to start from the inside.

No wheelie bars. The only track this will see will be autocross and the likes of laguna seca or thunderhill

Wow, i haven't really updated this in a while. This project is still plugging along slowly.

Right now, i'm having a buddy of mine do the flares.

I know that the angle on the front and rear flares are a bit different, i love them. Considering what the guy had to work with, they came out great.

Following that, we'll be fixing other peoples mistakes.

*Moving the whole engine/trans 3" back.
*Moving the steering rack 2.5" up
*Moving harness bar and cage x-bar back

Then, prettymuch good to go!

The flares are actually supported underneath with 1/4" round bar, along the outer perimeter of the flare, and every 6-8" from the outer lip to the body. I can kick them and they don't move

And yeah, it's not a build a lot of people would do. It's far from perfect. I've got a ton of money into this thing, and i could do it for a bit more than half next time. But hey, it's a labor of love and i cant wait to drive it!
