I failed with crinkle on both of my TRs.
Thank you Nick. I've never worked with vinyl (this is my first resto), but I'm beginning to think that leather is more forgiving and <span style="font-weight: bold">easier</span> to work with. To me, the leather has seems very stretchable. If you really need to stretch the leather, some water and heat will make it do just about anything you want. Look at the picture I posted above of the dash. Look at the U-shaped area where the steering column goes. That was all streched and prodded into position.
As far as the wrinkle (crinkle) finish goes, I think the trick is to heat the paint after application to get the maximum amount of wrinkle. After I painted the center dash facia, I stuffed it in the oven in the kitchen...yes, momma was out at the time. :laugh: It only stunk a little bit.
