The original Italian Job.

Yes yes yes yes yes! This is till one of the best, if not THE best car chase scene ever, wonderful cars, lots of action, comedy, and a stellar cast.

Highly recommended! This movie belongs in any car-buff's collection.

Not a movie as such, but check out In Car 956. To quote an amazon.com reviewer:

"For anyone who has ever watched a motor race and thought "I could do that" then watch this and see just how hard it is to drive a very powerful car on the limit around circuits where a mistake could mean your death.
The driver is Derek Bell, who was a works Porsche driver when the Porsche 956 was all-conquering. During the 1984 season a camera was placed in Bell's car during the practice session on a number of circuits and this DVD was the result. Circuits such as Silverstone, Nurburgring (the North Ring), Le Mans (before it was emasculated), Spa (the modern version) are some of the treats."

Got a cop motor in it, a 440 cubic inch plant. Cop tires. Cop shocks. Cop suspension.

It's got a lot of pickup.

Two Lane Blacktop. I love that movie. Warren Oates: one of the most underrated actors ever.

Vanishing Point: huge in my high school.

All mentioned here are good.

Not really a car movie per se, but the final scene in the Charles Bronson film "The Mechanic".

I lent out my copy of "Debbie does DeSoto" and never got it back!

There was a movie with Ron Howard where he is driving cross country for a reason I don't remember in a Silver Cloud....

You guys are going to laugh at this suggestion, but I have to recommend the original "Love Bug". The movie is set around Sports car racing of the late 60's. I think it might even be Laguna Seca. Too many shots with very cool cars to count.

trivia:
how many cars did the wreck in the Blues Bros. Movie?

All of them, I'm pretty sure!

Death Proof is pretty good. A 70 Challenger VS a 70 GTO (I think it's Le Mans), directed by Tarrantino.

Then there's "Crash" (1996). It's about as close to porn as a car movie can get, and cars, or rather crashes, are the fetish.

There's another, I haven't seen, called Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, which is on my Amazon wishlist.

Gotta agree with my son on Death Proof. Great classic US car chase and the Challenger is filled with great looking women. You will love the lap dance. Tarantino is a god. He brought in a number of famous stunt car drivers including Buddy Joe Hooker to do the tough scenes.

I found Ronin to have one of the better car chases I've seen in a long time. Again, a female driver in one of them.

I saw The Vanishing Point when it first came out but it somehow lost its kick over the years when I bought the DVD. Love that Challenger though. The big mystery back then was trying to decide why Kowalski had to get where he was going by some deadline.

Always liked Bullit. McQueen was the real deal as far as driving was concerned. Thought that the way they threw in the token love interest in Bullit was sort of silly.

The car crash scene in the new Casino Royale Bond flick set a record for the number of car rolls. Its the one where the girl he is trying to rescue is tied up in the middle of the road and he swerves to avoid her and rolls the car. Awesome.

Being a old Healey fan, I also cried when the bad guys bashed that Healey up in that recent brit movie (Can't remember the name right now). It was actually kind of shocking that any Healey owner would let them do it.

Well, I hesitate to mention this, but,---------"Christine"?

What happens to cars and people in that movie has got to rate as Porn!
