Does anyone have a picture?

Here's some pictures https://www.putzkes-fahrspass.com/bra_page.htm
This is why I suggested the clear film /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif

On the whole, I too dislike the bra (on most any car). But I will say that the red one on the Ralle (looking) Healey doesn't look too bad with its snug fit.

Randy--

The picture in the middle of the Putske website is of my car--the one with the Florida "Healey" plate. Udo must have taken it at Tahoe in 2002.

Though you can't se it in the picture I modified my bra to fit better by installing two Tenax studs in the shroud close to the apron (splash) behind the driving lights. I wouldn't go on a long road trip without the bra and I personally like its appearance. "Taste is a personal thing" said the man as he kissed the cow.

..this shows my 100 with just a hint of "freeway dirt".

Hi Curtis,

Nice photo .. It has a nice period look and I took the liberty to enhance the effect with a sepia tone.

Cheers, John

Hi Michael,

You take enough long road trips to qualify for full body armor to protect your baby. Still, I prefer the look of your 100 au natural /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Travel on!

John,Thanks for the change to sepia for the pic.You say it has a nice period look. Well the Rally of the Tests was in England and was a retrospective on how the RAC rally ran in the years before they took to the forests.I am not sure how many people on this forum would want to put their cars through this sort of event!! You would need more than a bra.
Curtis

Guys, looking at the pictures, I think that I would rather go without, it's an abomination.

I agree with Curtis. The bra destroys the lines. I bought my car cause I love to drive this beauty. If you're too concerned about the wear and tear of your 'baby', why not put it on a trailer and let it pull down the road while sitting in it and listening to a tape playing the sound of the engine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I guess the thing that bonds us is the love of the marque?
We all have different ways of enjoying the cars. I do like to see perfect examples of Healeys. But no extra chrome and polishing where it wasn't to start with.I still love my 100 to bits and we are growing old together, chips and all!!
Who does any competition or rallyes?

Curtis

While on this subject, whats the thoughts on using the clear film on the rear window plastic so as to keep it from getting scratches?, and just replacing the film as reqd?

You could check with the manufacturer first to see if their film will work on a flexible plastic. There might be some adhesion/transparency problems but maybe not. Plus you need to find out how to remove it and clean the plastic for the next layer. How about avoiding the scatches in the first place? Only use mild soap and lots of water to rinse dirt off the window and soft cloths or microfiber to clean/dry/polish. You could also place a cloth or towel on each side when storing the soft top to prevent scrathes. BTW, my favorite plastic scratch remover/polish is Novus Plastic Polish #2. Work miracles.

Cheers,
John

The bra is not a fashion statement. It is protection. I posted the picture as a help to someone asking a question. Sorry you feel the need to critize. Some members may have wished to protect their paint as well and now will feel conspicuous after your comments. Your number "82" reminds me of "Herbie" the VW but it is your right display it with out my public comments.

Come on now! We are all big boys aren't we? We can take a bit of ribbing. If people didn't comment, positively or otherwise, there would be no forum. As I said before, what bonds us is the love of the marque and the idea of the forum surely is to share information and views.
I posted the picture of my car to provoke comment as clearly my love of competition is not the same as others who are concerned with stone chips. But I bet I love my car as much as the others. I am sorry Tahoe Healey if my,and other peoples comments have offended you. That was not the aim but just to share a different view.
Regards
Curtis

Bras, any bras, are not popular among most guys.
They cover up what looks best uncovered and guys simply don't know how to get them off.
It's a guy thing.
Simple really. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I agree 100%. We all love our cars and our hobby. And that's why they make different flavors of ice cream. The problem with the computers is that one cannot tell jest from mean spirit. So lets just forget it.
