Not Birdie - TR8!

Sold and on its way to its new owner. Should arrive there on Saturday.

Hated to see her go, but I know one of our members here (and bride) will enjoy her as much as I have.

And here's the company she's keeping on the journey:

Yep - that's a REAL Cobra, along with a "Continuation" Cobra, a '65 Shelby Mustang, and what I think is a race-prepared Mach I.

New owner(s) will post when she arrives!

Rode with some good company I see!

Yeah, Rick. While he was loading her up, I couldn't help but think, "There goes the neighborhood!"

Well, for those who don't know it, I'm the lucky guy that Mickey sold his beautiful TR8 to. Well, actually to me and my wife, who is already looking forward to claiming a spot in the drivers seat of this one, since I've kind of taken over her TR6.

In any event, it will have a good home and it will always look as good as it does in the pictures above in the years to come.

It is great working with someone you know and trust for a long distance deal like this. I have my insurance, plates and registration already, so once its on the ground, we'll be cruising around for the weekend. Providing I'm not cleaning up a hurricane mess for the next three days, that is.

My thanks to Mickey and Janet for parting with this labor of love and for all their help in getting it ready for the transport company to pick it up. I'll have pictures up on Saturday when it becomes an official resident of the state of Massachusetts.

Good luck with the new additon Paul... I know it has a good home. Hope you gave Mickey visitation rights!

Paul: Have you notified the chrome plating guy that he can now send another kid through college with the profit from all those TR8 shiny things he'll be making!

Frank,

The main reason that I bought this car is that Mickey has lovingly done all of the work to it. This will be a drive and enjoy car. As a matter of fact, my wife has plans for a lot of wheel time for this one, as she worries about taking the TR6 out ever since the time we were hit in 2008.

I was told today to hang the plates on it Saturday, fill it with gas and get it ready to roll for a cruise that night. And to get used to the passenger seat while I'm at it....

Paul...we're all fellow addicts....er....enthusiasts here. You don't have to hide the fact that ALL the cars on that truck were going to your house! It's OK to have non LBCs in your garage!!

Peter,

I know where that real Cobra is going tomorrow and what it's worth. There is enough money on that truck to build me a garage mahal and 30 primo LBC's to fill it, along with a new house to fit in with the garage.

Mickey,

I would have given you twice that amount!Oh well,I guess I
missed out.
I'll bet you're sad to see it go,but then it went to a good
home.Plus you have one of Tony's cars.

- Doug

Whew. Glad THAT cat's outta th' sack. I wuz gigglin' like a schoolgirl over th' deal.

Congrats, Paul. Hope ya wear it in good health.

If an lbc has to be sold, better it should be sold to an lbc enthusiasts from a known person to a known person. I think such is this case here. BTW, it sure is purty!

Revel the moment Paul. It's the only time you'll be able to give your wife a wedgie and get away with it.

Thanks guys. I'm really excited about getting it home and going for the first ride. I've only ever driven a TR7, with a 4 cylinder, never a TR8, so this should be fun.

Congrats, Paul, on the acquisition. A good home for a fine car.

That's quite the trailer of goodies. If ever there was a trailer to steal...

And let's not forget why Mickey was selling the TR8. That is equally commendable, imvho.

Good deal all around. I may wind up with a wedge myself. One of my coworkers told me his dad has one sitting in his garage. It hasn't run for a while, and he may want to move it out. we'll see. the price on one like that has to be right.

I'm looking forward to watching the new project that Mickey will be working on. I love sitting back and watching as these develop and begin to take shape.
