Bye-Bye...

And I'll be starting on it soon!

First have to decide which engine to swap in.

Get some new camera batteries capable of taking pictures of MG's so you can post some pics soon.

Oh dear.... 'smits just "reviewed" this thread.

Be prepared!

Keep in British Mickey. Stick a Rolls Royce Merlin in it and get some real grunt going. Tony would be proud.

Paul,

I'm curious.... why didn't you fly down & drive it back?
One of the few car's that I'd trust the owner to be honest about.
I'd love to make that trip in a great car like that.

He trusts the car ,it's the planes he's not so sure about

I just didn't have the time to do it or I would have. My first 20 miles driving a TR8 just occurred, so while I sit back and absorb it all, here are some pics of earlier today. My wife really likes the car and the room inside.

The driver was running a lot lighter coming up from CT, as he dropped a ton of car value before making me his last stop. The car arrived along with all of the parts in mint condition and I put the plates on and took my wife for a nice 20 mile cruise this afternoon. I must say we were both impressed with the comfort of the TR8 and the handling, so far as the different feel than the TR6. My 6 has plenty of power, so that was never an issue, but this car is more than a go cart in the turns than the 6 is and I thought it handled well.

So the adventure begins for me and we can now start to watch Mickey restore the new project on the other forum. Tom the truck driver was a really great guy and owns a 1970 Chevelle 454 SS that is show material, so he loves all of these cars. He stayed at the house for a while before heading out to a rest area and to his next pickup from Nantucket tomorrow and back to NY.

Here's some pics of the TR8 coming to it's new home.

YEEHAW!

But the pictures didn't load....

AH! There they are.

Didn't waste any time puttin' the top down!

So where did you hide the Mustangs and the Cobras that were on board with the TR8?!

All of them and a racing Jag that we couldn't see are safely under alarm in CT. Mega bucks drop back there.

Now it's time for a nice evening cruise, right after church.

Yes, Jay, it was. And all part of the British Car Forum experience.

Now, the maiden voyage for the BGT will have to be up to Seekonk for a "reunion"!

Probably the most painless private purchase that I've ever made. And as Mickey sort of said, a lot of worry is taken out of a deal like this simply because of the values put forth and reputations earned on this forum.

Good Job Guys!!!!!

I am glad to see such a good car go to a true car guy.
That car was a beauty when I saw it two years ago. I'm sure it will stay that way now.
Now, Mickey, lets get at that "B-GT" and make it wild.
And BTW paul, If I had a little more disposable cash right now, you would have had to fight for the TR8.

Cheers all around, another BCF victory.

Dave  :driving:

It's downright proper.

We're crusin' in a little bit and Maureen wants to get behind the wheel on the return trip. I may be losing my new ride sooner than I thought.....
