Bugeye With Squealing Drum Brake

I have a 1960 Bugeye equipped with drum brakes that has developed a very annoying right front brake squeal. So far I have installed new drums, springs and brake pads. The brake pads appear to have even ware. I have sanded the paint from the the brake shield pads that the brake pads ride against and have used high temperature copper grease on them several times. Each time the brakes are quite for about 10 stops and then the right front will start to squeal again. Hard braking does not produce a squeal only normal braking. Also there is no pulling when braking. Does anyone have any ideas on the cause or solution for this problem. It is driving me nuts.

Possibly try cutting a chamfer (bevel) on the leading edge of both shoes. Worked for me on a non-LBC.

I,for one, am confused. A bug eye had front drum brakes stock but was commonly changed to front disc brakes. Drum brakes have brake shoes not pads like front disc brakes. Your description sounds as if you have front disc brakes which are known to occasionally squeal.

Sorry, misuse of terms pads are really brake shoes.

Apparently front drums will squeal as well according to John. Still don't understand the brake shield pad bit but I guess we are definitely talking drum brakes.
