Bugeye generator

I've toyed with the idea of upgrading to an alternator, but with the limited use of the car and wanting a period look I decided to stay with my generator. I stopped by an old generator/starter shop and they checked it out and everything is good but the fiber insulator that goes between the two terminals. The terminal with the square base accepts the fiber insulator without the insulator being sandwiched between the terminal and body of the generator, correct? I also serviced the bushing oiler and used 20 wt to soak the cotton wick which is what I used in the tach drive. Does anyone have a detailed picture of this end of the generator? I've googled it without success and want to make sure I'm doing this correctly.
Thanks, Rut

Alan,
Thanks, I've looked at that before but I'm more interested in keeping the original tach drive generator and need detailed pictures of the rear end.
Thanks, Rut

Rut -

Go on Ebay and search for Lucas Generator End Plate. Lots of pictures and parts.

Alan,
Thanks, but that's not the original set up I'm looking for. John, did a search and finally found one on eBay.ca that shows the detail I need...thanks!

Heck, I'll be staying original for the best of reasons: 335 British pounds! Doug

Hey Rut, there is also a brass plug maybe 1"" long that screws into the base of the threaded end plate, that has a felt pad that runs on the shaft of the armature. I have a couple of these in storage and could go take some pics tomorrow night if needed.
Cheers
Lew

Lew,
Thanks, I have the brass oiler on mine. The only issue I have (had) was the insulator being broken...I made a new one and think I'm good to go.
Thanks, Rut
