Bugeye floor replacement

You could always go for a hanging throtle foot feed if you did not want to mess with the off set problem, etc etc.

Paul,

Unless you need this to be origional, I used a piece of sheet metal and welded in the whole floor piece. It worked perfect mounted the gas petal in its origional location. Once you carpet it the only way you would know is from underneath. The depression is not missed, I am 6'2". That is the cheap way to go.

Ahh yes, another member of the "we cheep" club. Good on ya.

This afternoon's progress.
Patched, POR 15 and a tie coat of primer.

You can kind of see the replacement boot floor already in the final color

The under carriage is completely stripped and after a few welds are ground down it will be ready for painting.

Progress is good!

Don't they look great with fresh paint.

They do Jack! What a rotten job removing the undercoating and rust to get to this point. I hope to have the car in primer over the next two weeks.

Paul

Wow, looks great...can't wait to get there with my floors.

Re: Bugeye floor replacement- naked Bugeye

She is now completely stripped and all the panels are welded in and ground down. A few spots to touch up and we will be ready for primer. Don't you just love a dry climate and garage?

Is that why it's been blurred out? Most of us are over 18, and 28 and 38 and er.... never mind

Re: Bugeye floor replacement- naked Bugeye

LOL JP.

Looks like I have about 10 days and we will have some rain so the push is on to get her in primer.

I get the daily weather from KOMO in my morning emails.
I was a bit surprised this morning when they reminded me we have had 3 sunny days this work week. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We are also supposed to have sunshine tomorrow.

It's been raining cats and dogs since about noon today. I am sure that's what Bill is feeling.

Re: Bugeye floor replacement- naked Bugeye

Good to see your progress, I finally shot my 3000 chassis in Transtar 2k primer this week. Keep up the good work. My advice to those contemplating this sort of rebuild in their spare time...pencil in PLENTY of spare time.
