Jeff, if you want to get into something British but a little bigger, look for a pre 68 MGB (up to 1974 will work). Several very wise individuals from here gave me the same recommendation and they were all RIGHT!! I found a 68 MGB locally on Craigslist and it is AWESOME! I am 6'1 and have TONS of room - I can put my legs out straight and not reach the firewall with the seat all the way back. Plenty of room, plenty of power - just a blast to drive! Judicious shopping and a persistant search of Craigslist and/or eBay should net you a car in a reasonable price range, it did for me. Let us know what you decide!
