Congratulations on the great new format and appearance. This was a *ton* of work, and we appreciate all you're doing.

The new look is great. Like all changes it will take a little getting use to.

Thank you for all the work you put into keeping this site up and running.

Looking good (but notice, likely still to resolve, that emojis in my tag-lines aren't there).

Thanks for all your hard work, Basil. I'm stumbling my away around to get familiar with the new format.

Liking the new look so far. Only been to the Pub and will have to check out the rest of it!!

hmmm - looks like we lost our "thanks given" and "thanks received"?

(Also ... what are "trophies", and how are they given and used?)

Thanks.
Tom M.

Tom, I think you use the "Like" button on the lower right side of the posting dialog box.
And, we get our Trophies at the BCF bowling alley

Thanks Elliot. Any idea what "reaction score " and "points" refer to? Those show up when you hover over username at the left of the post.

Had to overcome a little resistance to anything new or different, but so far, so good. Easier to post pictures too. Good job.

Trophies (Yes, I know it's silly)

Trophies add a light gamification element to the forum. They allow me to define certain thresholds and criteria for when a user is awarded a trophy and the associated points. The top trophy point earners are then displayed in the notable members list.

When defining a trophy, I can specify the number of points it is worth and the criteria that is required to receive it. Once a user meets that criteria, it will be automatically awarded. Note that once awarded, a trophy will not be revoked, even if the user no longer meets the criteria.

If I delete a trophy it will remove the points from any user that has received it.

Reactions (Hover over the like button and you will see a pop-up that shows the current "reactions". I'm using the defaults now, which the image below shows how many reaction points each "reaction" gets.

Reactions allow users to express the emotion they feel towards a piece of content with a simple click. The most basic reaction is Like, with which everyone who has not been living in a cave for the past decade or so is familiar.

Multiple reactions can be defined, such as love, sad and wow, each of which may be defined to be a positive, negative or neutral reaction.

Each reaction type may be assigned a reaction score. For example, Like is given a score of (positive) +1. If ten users 'like' a post, in the absence of any other reactions, its reaction score will be 10. Reactions may also be assigned neutral (+0), negative (-1) or custom scores depending upon their use case. Very similar in concept to our old "Thanks" system (similar but different).

I've been through several versions and am so far really enjoying this. Very easy to navigate and do stuff. Clicked on a pic and love how you have so many options.
Even pasting a snippet is easy.

This is working great, admit to getting older and grumpy about change, this is really painless. I used to have to go back into desktop mode on my phone to look at anything besides topic headings on the forum, now I don't have to. Just posted a pic for fun, it was easy! Sadly NOT my car.

Looks good Bas. I'm liking the new format so far, it's much easier to use from my phone.
