Does anyone know if the brake calipers on a TR4 were painted and what color or where they just left natural to rust on their own?

Any color you like. Just use the right type of paint

Mix up rust, dirt, blister, with a tad of asbestos, and you've got it just right.

paint them any color you want'
I went with John Deer yellow'

even Praying Mantis's like it'

No. Never painted, at least not by Triumph. Regardless of whether cast iron or aluminum, they clean up real nice (plastic media) and then a clear coat!
