Has anyone bought and installed the Auto Parts Warehouse brake booster for an Austin Healey 3000, part number N4000-43709? The price of $420 is attractive if it works.

Hey Charlie,
I installed a PBR booster that I haven’t had any problems with in the limited amount of driving I’ve done with my car. Other people who have used this part seem satisfied also. Not quite as cheap at $349, but it comes with mounting brackets. It has a bleeder valve to help get air out of the system.

Hi Coastalman, The PBR booster, which I think was formerly the Patton unit which I have run for many years, comes with the correct installation brackets. This allows it to be a direct bolt in.---Fwiw---Keoke

I think I read somewhere that the master cyl. is slightly differnt between a non booster car and one with the booster. May want to verify this before the upgrade if you currently have no booster. Bob

I do have a booster, but the brakes are hard to push. Car does stop, but much pressure must be applied to the pedal. The brake pedal is slightly further down than the clutch or accelerator pedals. I am going to check into aligning the pedals per instructions on one of the posts.

Given that you have a booster Charlie, then it just may be that the booster was added without changing the master cylinder over to the correct size as mentioned by BR1.--Keoke-?

Keoke,
My car is a '66 BJ8. Shouldn't it have the correct master cylinder for a booster?
