Re: Boot Brace Rivits?

Hi Keoke,
They’re called tubular rivets. I think they can be had at:
Culver City Hardware
5429 Sepulveda Blvd
310 398 1251
That’s where I bought those copper pop rivets I mentioned a while ago. One piece per hole. The hollow end gets expanded. I made a riveter out of a C-clamp with a center punch welded to it. See this thread for a photo. I balked at the price of a real squeezer for the small job I needed it for. The one downside is a little crease that gets made in the head of the rivet. I can work on fixing the tool. I just did a light sanding of the rivet head once they were installed. You can borrow mine if you want. I’ll be going to Downey on Friday passing your neck of the woods.

Re: Boot Brace Rivits?

OK Greg, I Know that place I will check there tomorrow. The shop that is loaning me space is closed until tuesday so I will not be doing anything until then.I may bite the bullet and buy the anvil for the rivits and use a "C" clamp too.I sincerly appreciate your offer and I may just end up borowing it in the end. Thanks Much---Keoke

Re: Boot Brace Rivits?

Hi Keoke if you use the solid rivets the worked or driven end should be 1&1/2 times the origional rivet shank diameter. Skip
