Has anyone ever tried to grind off and round the bottom of the small grill on the bonnet so it will not scratch the paint? I have seen the split plastic tube used by British Car Specialist but I thin it looks tacky.

That's where I put three (3) stubs of vacuum hose (over those studs)perhaps 3/16 - 1/4" long . See my post above.AUSMHLY said:tahoe healey said:Has anyone ever tried to grind off and round the bottom of the small grill on the bonnet so it will not scratch the paint? Another item to be concerned with is putting indents marks in the air intake from torking down too much on the 3 bolts. BCS sells a 9" grille packing pad, cuttable, just for this installation. Part number 14B 9484 Grill Packing.
