Any one know what the sizes and thread of the bolts that hold the transmission to the block. I remember it being a somewhat oddball size. Also the bolts that hold the starter in and finaly the bolts that hold the alternator bracket to the block

Thanks

Don't know the sizes but do you need some?

IIRC, they're all fine thread. 5/16" seems to be my recollection. I'd not do this for many folk, Stew... If you can hold off 'til the AM t'morrow I'll confirm. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

I'd apreciate it DrEntropy. I should be good on finding the starter and alt bracket bolts tony but I think the fun part is going to be finding the right lenth bolt to mount up the block to an engine stand. I had a hard time finding them last time and I'm kicking my self in the butt for tossing the last set I had.

Here ya go, Stew: 5/16" NF for the tranny: top two are 2", three for the side are 2-1/2" and the bottom two are 3". I've used Nylok nuts on mine. Starter has shouldered 1/2" NC, 2" long to thread into the transmixer bell-housing... Keep in mind this is a 3-synchro bolted to an 18GB. YMMV. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

No biggie... I did it before the fire ants were awake. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Just checked some I took off a '73 18V/4-syncro box...they're the same.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif That's three... a consensus... Good to go!
