BJ8 w/o brake booster?

WALTER

Why would my friends '66' BJ8 not have a brake booster. I looks like it never had one. And it is a beautifully restored Healey. Boosters were supposed to be stock from '63' on.

Walter,

On my 65, the original brake booster was long ago replaced and
also relocated to the other side of the engine compartment from the stock location. If you didn't know were to look for it, you would think I didn't have one either. Look to see if the vacuum hose is attached to the intake and then follow the hose if it is there.

Thanks Ed,
But not this one. Vacuum port plugged. Nothing but studs left at the foot well. Must not have been in the restoration budget.

Me thinks you are about right. However, you might tell your friend there is a new PBR unit with brackets on E-bay now for $350.00 its a bargain and better than the original. Additionally, it is required to stop the big healey at speed.---Keoke

Thanks, I'll pass that on.
