Apparently, this never ends. OK I stand corrected on an earlier comment of mine, so humble pie is now in my diet. I was going through The AH3000 restoration guide by Anderson and Moment (great book), looking for something else when I came across the following on page 93: "when the Mark II model was introduced in March 1961,....the... grille opening was covered with a chrome oval trim piece that OVERLAPPED a chrome brow piece. The innermost flat surface of the oval trim piece was painted with a band of dull flat silver paint up to the grille slats"

So the point here is that the brow fits UNDER the lip of the large oval trim piece.-------
