BJ8 Damper links

I've just replaced the links on my dampers. The links each have one tappered bolt connection and one parallel bolt connection. When I removed them I found that the parallel bolt had a thin bush like washer fitted to it. The hole in the chassis plate is a little bigger than the bolt diameter. So to make the bolt fit a machined bush/washer was fitted. The bush matched the diameter of the bolt but had a raised collar/shoulder machined onto one face to match the diameter and the thickness of larger chassis plate hole. The whole thing was no thicker than two washers and allowed the undersized bolt to fit snuggly into the larger hole on the chassis plate without the bush part protruding through to the other side of the chassis plate preventing it from being tightened up. The other link didn't have this washer and the hole is slightly too large for the bolt.
I'm wondering whether anyone else has come across this "fix", and as I don't have access to a lathe I'm wondering if anyone knows whether you can buy such a washer.

Thanks
AJ

Yes, but it's all back together now and too late, I did have trouble trying to explain it!
I've concluded that the hole in the chassis plate on one side of the car must have been a bit worn/oversized. I think someone repaired it by turning down one face of a thick washer to the diameter of the larger hole in the chassis, looks like a thin bush/'top hat'. The turned down part of the washer fits into the larger hole and is thin enough so it doesn't stick out the other side of the chassis plate so the bolt can be tightened up against the chassis plate. I'll take the other side off again to check that the hole on the other side isn't also worn and if it is, I'll have to find a shop to make up a washer to fit. I suspect the other side is OK otherwise they would have repaired that at the same time. I was just wondering whether this was a standard way to fit the link and that I could perhaps buy this strange shaped washer from somewhere. Looks like I'm wrong.
Thanks for responding.
