BJ8 Alternator - small belt in large pulley

I think it will run too deep in the groove and not run smoothly , it may get jammed and fail .

When I put the alternator on my BJ7 I didn't change any pulleys. I used a NAPA/GM Delco alternator which is exactly like the one on my old Vette. The pulley on the alternator is just like the Vette's as well. The mounting came from Allen Hendrics. Sorry I don't have any measurements available now.

Working on an alternator setup for a friend and would like to avoid swapping out any pulleys.

Can a normal 3/8" belt be run in the BJ8 1/2" crank pulley?

YEP
