A few things to finish up yet, wiring a few non-essential bits, chrome rings around the headlights, some minor paint touch up, windshield and frame switched out when the new glass comes in, boot lid needs adjusting and some work on the MG badge on it, minor things.

Brakes are fixed, was something to do with a push rod?

Took her out today, drove awhile, went to my sister-in-law's to swim. Brian & Chuck went to take her for a run and rut roh, puddle on the garage floor. Gas from the back end, about 18" circle (car'd been in the garage an hour or less because it had looked like rain)

Crawled under her, checked things and it seems the receptacle where the gauge fits to the gas tank (?) is leaking -- like a sieve. Not sure why but wondering if the guy that did the 'tank work' for us didn't do something there? So we have to drain the tank and have it repaired. Pushes us back a week or so at least again. BUT, another thing I'd rather happen NOW than half way to Gatlinburg. Right now she has Emma's tonneau and car cover on and is backed into the driveway.

Here's pics! Kudos to the guy in the driver's seat! (and please don't mention whitewalls)

And Binabox with her new family, Brian's Midget and my brother-in-law's Bugeye:

Really looking good and just about there. Yep the odds and ends at the end take a bit but are not essential. Press.

First thing is to address this fuel leak. Next to brake problems, fuel is right up there at the 'critical' level!

Woohoo! Just in time for the next newsletter! Even have some great pics to snatch!

Basil

Basil, make sure you get a nice one of the Bugeye. Hehe.

Funny story about Brian's Midget. It belonged to my brother-in-law, we initially toyed with buying it late summer 04, just too small for Chuck. Al had bought the Bugeye and Martha (Chuck's sister) said one car has to go. He wanted $3500 for it, we bought Emma for $4000. Al ended up 'giving' the Midget away for $1000 to our club's webmaster. Lonnie put new carpeting, door panels and seat covers on, did a bit of engine work (carbs I think) and decided to sell it because he bought an E-type Jag. By that point, Brian had britishcaritis big time. He dickered Lonnie down to $2500 and now it's back in the family!

Sweet looking ride JB. You are going to have many happy days in that car.

Congratulations Jaybird, Binna looks stunning, Grey and Red Interior is an unusual but very pretty combination and I bet she runs as well as she looks.

So does this mean that Emma gets a bit more TLC? (don't want to make her jealous..)

Best regards (from Brazil, half a world away from my girls but closer to you guys)

Congratz Janel, she looks great

Congratulations....

Looks like you have a very happy little car there.

Now it probably wants to relive its childhood by doing some exploring. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Beauty! YAY!

Basil you done good guy. I think you expressed all our feelings with the small note in the bottom right of the pic.
Thankyou.

Chuck and Janel, I am so enveious I almost can not stand it. I want to be able to go for a wee drive so bad.

Congratulations to Janel for advice and guidance, chuck for turning the wrenchs and John for the magic he does.

Awww. What a great thing to wake up to!

Thanks Basil, I have a new background on the computer now!

You guys are the bestest. We (at least ME) may not have gotten through this restoration without this place!!

HUGS!

FYI, Chuck's never on this computer, but I do bring him in to read stuff from time to time. He came in from Mass, I brought him in here and showed him the congrats pic. He was smiling big time.

Now, out to deal with a leaky sending unit or whatever. Looks to be coming from where the tank flanges out rather than the unit itself, but I just peeked under there this morning.

hehehehe...as godfather, I'm proud of ya'll!Oh, check the rubber gasket around the sending unit - did Chuck put it in first or after the sending unit? Did he use a new one?

GREAT!!!! SWEET!!! AWESOME!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Are you gonna rename her now?

Chuck had to make his obligatory visit to his mom's this morning. We're tearing into the gas issue when he gets home.

Nope, Binabox she is. Bina.

Stunning! "B"-utiful!
I love the color combo.
Way to go Chuck and Janel!
Nuff said.
