Are the heat shields on firewall and under floor only screwed or glued as well.

Any experience or recommendations?

Luke,

They are just screwed on but some panels have small square blocks of insulation glued to the large panels that act as spacers.

The heat shield on the firewall, located directly behind the engine, is "screwed" directly to the firewall. The ones under the floor are also screwed inplace and are provided with additional thermal isolators in the form of "Square Blocks" as indicated by John earlier. No original heat shields are glued directly to structure.-Keoke

Caution working with original heat shield. I believe they are asbestos. If they are, what is being used as replacement?

Yep they are Asbestos TH. Home Depot has a Bricker board that is being used as a Non-Asbestos replacement. Similarly, those purchased from the regular suppliers are not fabricated using an Asbestos material either-Keoke

The originals are asbestos and should be handled with care and disposed of properly.

I've a set of replacements and they seem to be made of a compressed fiber material. No idea what it is.
