Hola Bill !!!

When you change out your plug wires, would you kindly
send me your old ones shown in your photo??

Mine do not fit very well and your existing wires are
better than mine.

Thanks,

Dale

I use the basic copper core wires available at CarQuest and such places. I just get a universal 8-cylinder kit (which unaccountably cost less than the 6-cyl kit) and make up a few sets at a time. They put a *lot* of wire in those universal kits.

Probably not the ideal choice for radio reception but that is not a concern for me. The copper cores work especially well for the 4-cyl motors as the distributor caps must pierce the core to make the connection, may have other/better choices for the style of cap on the 6.

Rockauto - 7 mm set powermax 17 bucks + shipping - works fine on my 1973 - I am running a 123ignition distrib. but had the stock lucas in first (6 volt stock coil) - had a recommendation for a halo spark plug from the vendor of the 123 dist. did not try them yet - he said got better burn (higher rpm on his mg) interesting! I emailed the firm selling the plugs waiting for info.

I like Magnecor, but keep a stock #1 plug wire to set your timing.

Thanx for all the input

I think i'm going to try the copper core.
I never had them on my TR6, so I'll give them a try.

2nd Question: /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif
Do you think they will create static in my stereo?
Maybe a noise suppressor would do the trick.

Im running a 1500w amp with the Alpine....

Dale your welcome to my old red ones as soon as I replace them.
I also have a set of green wire that I'll keep as a backup.

PM me with your mailing address and they'll be on their way!

Taylor wires are right up there with the best. Universal kit, easy to work with, stay on the plug and cap. 8mm. Can get them at better speed shops.

Should be a problem only if you are listening to (analog) broadcast radio. But in that case, a noise suppressor isn't going to help.

I've got Taylors on two cars, Magnacores on a couple, Lucas "Bumblebee" on another, and the rest have copper cores that I made myself.
Can't see a dam bit of difference between any of them.

Dale, I've got some old speaker wire I can send you! And a used coat hanger. What more do ya need??

Stop giving Bill ideas so that he can finally settle on one and go buy them.

Poor Dale is drooling down in PR over those red beauties currently on the Kodanja-Mobile that are promised to him.

I know Don. It's the POR15 fumes and then the Mobil Synthetic grease in the cuts that hit you first.

Good night....
