Best Rock band ever...

Derek and the Dominoes "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs"

Nope, Clapton, Bruce and Baker were Cream, for Blind Faith you have to remove Jack Bruce, and add Stevie Winwood and another base player whose name I can't remember.

Doesn't matter, they were all great, weren't they /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Why 1979? Did something happen (or someone die) that year?

Led Zep, The Who, Rolling Stones, etc. all rate high.

and I'm partial to Ten Years After, too.

All the blind faith, derek and the dominos, cream personell combined ino one band together would have been awsome (if the clashing personalities did not self-destruct first)!

Being a musician I'd have to agree that it is tough to single out one band. All band's so far listed are always on shuffle in my CD player. I gotta love a bit of everything as I take a bit away every time I go sit down and play.

Fagen, McDonald, Spence, Cooder...

There's not enough time to absorb it all. I just keep listenin'

OK, now who is going back over this thread to check and see who was mentioned the most etc and make this meaningful? I think I will pop in a Frank Zappa CD and wait for the results!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Speakin' of Cooder, are there any other Buena Vista Social Club fans on the Forum? I'm listening to Ibrahim Ferrar as I type ("A mi me gusta que baile Marieta..."

Not rock, by any stretch, but fantastic stuff!

I've his "Little Village" CD. Liked the PBS proggy but haven't got the CD yet.

I guess I picked 79, because that's when I started listening to music, and don't really remember much before that. I was about 6-7 years old in 79.
