Hi all,

I spent a good part of today (Sunday, 18 Nov), along with my wife, picking pictures for the 2008 BCF Calendar. We used the ratings of members as a general guideline (I think all the pictures chosen were at least a 3 rating, with most being 4 or 5 stars), but then from those we really had a hard time deciding which pictures to use. I wish there were a way we could have used them all because there were so many great pictures of great cars that it really was very difficult. It was about like "which one of your kids do you want to toss out?" LOL! On two of the months (March and December I think), we grouped multiple smaller images so that the total number of images, including the cover image, was 19.

I want to thank all who submitted pictures and if your picture was not used, that doesn't mean it was a bad picture. The truth is, there were lots of factors we considered. Of course first and foremost, we wanted to pick pictures that the members generally liked and which were interesting. There had been a lot of “feedback” about whether the pictures should include people in them, or just the cars. There were differing opinions on that subject, but in the end, we used a good mix I think. Some pictures include their owners or other people in the shot and some don’t. But overall, we were pretty happy with the end result. Then, we wanted to have a good cross section of marques represented, and I think we managed that as well. The break down of the pictures is something like this (not necessarily in the order they appear on the calendar):

1 Daimler
1 Lotus
1 Spitfire
4 Racing Pics on one page (various marques, such as Bugeye, MG, Sunbeam)
1 Mini Mayflower
2 TR3s
1 TR6
1 “Other” British car
1 Jaguar EType
1 Bugeye Sprite
1 Mini Classic
2 “Big” Healeys
1 MG YB
1 MGB

I’ll let you know when they are ready for purchase. By issue at this point is, I don’t know how many to order. If I order at least 25, there is a discount, which gets larger with the more you order, but if I order too many, I’ll be stuck with unsold calendars. (I’m still trying to sell the remainder of the T-Shirts from earlier this year).

I`ll be happy to order at least 2; Perhaps 3:

I think you just met your 25pcs. quota for Major Discounts?

Thanx, Russ

You can certainly put me down for two Basil. Assuming that you will be able to send them out to overseas customers.

At least two for me. Any idea of the price?
