Battery wrap needed?

Back to the battery cover.... to me - it looks like the only thing which fell apart is the cheapo covering material. The insulation looks ok. I would leave it as is. As Walter pointed out, modern cars just get much hotter under the hood, the engines run hotter (better thermo efficiency) and there is way less air flow and it is bad for batteries. The idea is to try and keep the battery from boiling.
In any case since the insulation seems ok I would just leave as is or get a generic. no need for a "custom nissan" blanket. Also make sure the battery is topped off it really does get hot under the hood
