After getting a pair of mufflers hanging on the Healey's headers, I could start doing some preliminary tuning on the Weber 45 DCOE carbs.
After removing the carbs and linkage a while back for cleaning, the air balance was the first order of business.
I ordered a couple of these Carbtune IIs from a place in England. Best device of the type I have ever used. Note that those are stainless steel rods and not Mercury.
I do have one issue that needs to be resolved, the #6 cylinder is intermittently backfiring on idle. That suggests a lean condition to me, perhaps there is still some obstruction in the low speed circuit...? As soon as you give it some throttle, it picks up evenly and the miss goes away.
What fun would it be without a little challenge?
