Authentic British Pub Experience in NA?

The St. Pete's watering hole thread got me thinking.

I have lived in the US and Canada for 22 years and have seen many so-called attempts at creating "an authentic British pub experience". The problem is that in my travels across both countries I have only ever found one "pub" that I know wouldn't be out of place in the olde country.

So the question is, for those that care, have you come across a pub that would stand the test.

The sad thing is that they seem to be dying out in the olde country.

It's the: "protect us from ourselves" attitude killing off waterin' holes, IMO.

There's a fair facsimile of a real pub nearby to us, owned by some ex-pat Irish folks. Good bangers 'n mash, fish 'n chips. Guinness on tap. I'm chuff'd.

Not necessarily that authentic, but great place here in Clarksville. Member Dave (14dna) and bride have been here. Tony as well.

Blackhorse Pub

Their "Barnstormer" red ale is my favorite.

And it's a block away from the church! :thirsty:

Passably decent "Americanized version" owned by ex-pats in Jupiter Farms, Fl. called the Queen Mary Pub!

I have yet to find one! Often thought of opening one of my own, but the one big stumbling block is, of course, no money! I have the perfect name for it though.....

Come on down to Tennessee, and we'll open one over in the Smokies when Janet and I retire!

It would be perfect for dads who can't deal with any more Putt-Putt Golf, or outlet malls, or pancake houses!

We have a couple pubs here in Santa Monica. The one I go to most is this one. Ye Olde Kings Head Check out the photo gallery.

The building at Raglan Road in Orlando is authentic Irish, but much larger. It is where I discovered bread pudding.
The British Car Club of the Lehigh Valley meets at Bravehearts in Hellertown PA which has good meat pies and fish and chips. Much of the waitstaff are in kilts and is probably the best UK Pub in the area.

....When I was at the Brit car show on Louisville 2 years ago there was an Irish pub near by that was great, the best fish n chips I have ever had in the US.

There is Fowleys Pub in San Fran that is great and of course Pattersons and the Cat & Fiddle in Sausaltio!

Jeez wish we had some like that here out in the sticks er paridise that is!

Now I'm hungry again... fish 'n chips. May need to head to th' local.

Here in Huntsville, we have an authentic Irish pub, Finnegan's Pub.

When visiting Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix, we would stop at McKibbons on Rue Bishop. https://www.mckibbinsirishpub.com/dt/inside_menu.htm. On Sunday night following the race, mechanics from Red Bull, Toro Roso (Minardi), and Jordan (including Eddie) could be found "unwinding". These guys refused to have a bad time, and indicated this pub was representative of what could be found in Ireland.

If that's the one at Downtown Disney it's supposed to be really good, and it's always packed.

My favorite pub is the Washington Square Tavern in Brookline, MA.
The food is great, and the bar is right out of anytown in Ireland, or the UK.
Paul have you been there? If not, maybe a drink or two after the show at Larz Anderson Museum?

Now, THAT sounds like a plan!

That's the one. I have been able to get reservations each of my last two trips to Disney. Even got to use the meal plan there the first time. I really like it.

Hey, I can deal with it! You will serve Old Speckled Hen, eh........

Great spot Elliot! Even though I don't drink, it's still a fun place to visit.

I never go after the Larz shows due to parking issues, but I've been there driving the daily unit.

The British Beer Company spots on the Cape are good too. Our Cape Cod club meets there every month.
