There is a chrome plated brass molding that attaches to the top of each door of the BJ8. Moss numbers are 805-190 and 805-200. The do not appear to have been attached by any mechanical fastener, with the exception of the clips that also hold the rubber window seal. There was, however, a strip of adhesive apparently providing some bonding between the molding and the door. The ends of the molding do have flanges that seem to fit around the door somewhat. Other than what I have described here, is there any other attachment procedures for this molding? And question number two: does the rubber outer window seal overlap the side window channel? Thanks a bunch.

Its been 23 years since I did my BJ8.....from my recolection the clips were the only pieces holding the chrome in place. I had a 50000 car at the time and do not remember anything in between the chrome and the body. When I installed the window seal I ended it at the vertical chrome side window cutting it flush to that point, if I understand the question..
I am sure current BJ8 owners will agree or disagree.

Thanks so much. You understood the question perfectly. I am at the stage of fitting the windshield, after re-chroming. The body was extensively repaired, so fitting the bugger has been, so far, the most frustrating exercise. Everything, including the door trim, side vent windows, etc., must align perfectly, and so far they are not cooperating. Until everything lines up, and fits, then I can't finally fit anything. This car is exceedingly complex.
