Aston Martin V8/DBS

I saw a tired old Aston Martin V8 or DBS in a small shoppers carpark. It had seen better days. A few scrapes and scratches, one of the overriders was held on with gaffa tape and the drivers seat leather was split. Also the alloys were heavily corroded.

What surprised me more was the driver. As I was walking back to my car I noticed an tiny old guy, must have been 90 if he was a day, almost doubled over with age, shuffling along with a walking stick, walking down the road. By the time I had loaded my car and was heading for the car park exit I saw him climbing into the drivers seat. Makes me wish I had stopped and talked to the guy. I wonder now if he had the car from new. Only goes to show, once you get that dream car they are very hard to let go of.:encouragement:

Isn't it funny how you see an older guy with such a hard-core car? I used to see an elderly gentleman driving a slightly shabby looking 289 Cobra around about 30 years ago. I'm pretty sure it was a real one.

I wonder if we'll be like that? :friendly_wink:

By the by, I saw a DB7 yesterday. Shiny black with wide, black wheels and flared fenders. Dark glass too. It looked very bad-@ss.

I hope I can still drive anything when I'm that old. I suspect my joints won't last. Starting to get a little creaky and I've got a fair way to go before I hit 90.

Maybe we should have a forum survey. See who would admit to being the oldest (and youngest) regular driver of a LBC here.

This was in the parking lot across the street from where I work. I snapped these on my way walking back from lunch just a couple days ago.

Isn't it funny how many of the (US) Fords look like an Aston in the front? I guess this is one of the legacy areas when Ford owned Aston-Martin.

The new Ford grill really does look Aston-like. That looks like a DB9 above, no? I saw a DB7 the other day but didn't snap a shot.

Gorgeous Nial. Watkins Glen must be one heck of an event from the photos you have posted over the years.
