I have some spridget stuff that I really don't need and there is some stuff that I want. I have a cover for the front end of a midget, its like one of those bras but it covers the head lights, grill, sidelights and all. Its to protect the front end of the car when towing it. I don't entend to tow mine but what I need it one of those covers that covers up the top when it is down (not sure what its called). I am out of work right now recovering from knee surgery, so I have plenty of time to look through some of my junk. I also have a ribcase transmission that I had just put a new cluster gear in and was working fine when I decided to do the full resoration and go with a 5 speed.
 
OK, most all of us have some misc spridget junk.
Maybe we should each post a list of wants and some of the more useful spares that we have.
I'll start on my list this afternoon.
BTW, Buster Evans posted on the midgetsprite list that he was looking for a ribcase tranny (but he is in California)
 
A cover that snaps down over the top when the top is down. I also am looking for the blue indicator lamp housing for the dash as well as the littl chome dot that tells where the heater control knob is pointing. I also need the MG emblem and plinth for the grill. All I can think of for now.

count me in too. I have a couple of boxes of stuff that came with the car. I need to sift through it and figure out what I need/Dont need.
 
Even I have a bit or two, like an eztra head, exhaust manifolds, master cyl, and windsheld motor. Lord knows what else. Stuff, I got stuff.
 
The ideal would be a way to post what we have (and what we'd want for it) and what we're looking for. Let me think about this on my lunch break, may have a solution... some sort of searchable deal would be perfect...
 
OK, here is a start:

Extra bits I have:

Metal shifter hat
Stock front sway bar(no links)
1500 bumpers
'70 windshield frame
late model steering rack
1500 doors (completely dressed)
complete 1500 steering column and wheel
Thin chrome/split bumpers (good for a driver.. no overriders)
...that is the stuff from memory

Bits that I need:
Front sidecreen bracket(driver's side)
radius arm bracket for driver's side
serviceable bugeye tail light lenses
seatpans for a bugeye
1098/1275 Vert flow thermostat housing
ign/light switch knob for bugeye
good late model lower A-arm.
... again, this is from memory

be useful (press "Search" to see my dummy items). I've got the ability to do these sorts of user-editable tables pretty easily (this setup took about 15 minutes). Might be overkill, but would give a way to be more permanent than forum posts.

Items could be entered individually or as a list. Searching works on item and description fields. Any thoughts?
 
If there is interest, I can get it permanently set up. Anyone can browse the list, but to add to it, you'd need an account (I'd need name and a public email address for contact).
 
We already have a classified section. Maybe Basil can work in a WTT section. Till then, though, or until something gets going I have lotsa Spridget parts.

I need:
A couple of the clips that hold the heater box together on a late model (70s) Spridget.
Steering wheel hubs (to modify for aftermarket wheels)
1500 radiator cowls (to allow electric fans behind 1275 rads)
Good A-arm (lol, someone else listed this, so... me, too)
 
I wasn't imagining this to replace a true classified section, since as Derf pointed out we already have a good one. This is more for those of use who have extra bits we would be willing to trade or sell, but aren't actively trying to sell. Also does allow for a wanted area. I never like to replicated something that already works, but this might give us another way to be able to easily pass around our extra bits.

Bill -- good idea, I added in the "All" model.

Edit:
BCF Classifieds do have a "Wanted" section. Might be worth passing this idea on to Basil and see if he has any interest in modifying the Classified section to be a little easier to search. I could see categories for vehicle types to be able to filter for Spridget bits.
 
Until we get the new system in place, I'm looking for a couple of things:

Rally Sport graphics
Ansa exhaust (new)

I have miscellaneous MGB and Mustang II parts for possible trade...

Never gotten that reaction before!

No five-speed, but I want one. I have a rebuild kit with brass synchos for the four-speed, but I doubt the RAD4 is up for the abuse I intend to inflict upon it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
