TR2/3/3A Any thoughts on this part?

I found this part attached to one of the front bumper mounting irons in my TR3A kit.

Any thoughts on what it is or has it been bent out of shape?

That goes from the steering box attaching bolt down to the lower frame on one of the bumper bracket bolts as an insurance policy in case the steering box welds breaks. Plus in needs a spacer and is a little bent.

Where else could you find that answer, in 5 minutes before morning coffee no less!

Here it is in place:

Possibly it got bent when someone wrenched on it w/o the spacer in place.
