Think I have posted this before,
my panel man (ex R/R) showed me some photos where all they used was cheap paper based masking tape as a barrier between ali and steel panels, the paint should help, and as Keoke said its the bolt holes that wear, a smidge of corrode cure or black jack like VW used perhaps on the boltssets on installation

Thanks,Roscoe for posting about this subject,
I also have pondered about what to do about the corrosion strips. So if you clean all the corrosion out and properly use the primer paint and base pase paint, you shouldn't need the strips. Also Randy thank you for the info on the conversion solution,I've got alot of pits to get cleaned out,I want that paint to stick.

Having never seen this product I didn't know if it is sticky backed or does it just lay in the fender joints which would hinder fender fitups. Also I have to wonder about protecting only the fenders joints and not all the other parts of the car where steel is touching the shrouds. Thanks for your help and have a good day!

John
