Another BE dash questions

In the middle of the (edge)top flange, there's a hole
used for mounting. It's located just in front of where the
mirror is mounted.

If I feel under the dash, just behind the mirror (towards the passenger seats) there's a fixed bolt. Does that bolt
go into the hole on the dash for fix the dash in position?

So far for mounting I've located 1 hole on each upper side of the dash where a screw fits. These are located behind the windscreen posts. You have to open the doors to drop the screws in. There's also two rods extending from the car that screw into the bottom of the dash.

Is that it, the 5 mounting positions?
What have I learned...more pictures next time!

That's correct, Bruce. Here's the mounting points:

<ul>[*]1 stud in from the cowl through a hole in the top center of the dash[*]1 bolt at each end of the top of the dash[*]2 brackets at the bottom of the dash[/list]

That makes 5 points in total.

Thank Donn, Drew. Now all I have to do is recover the dash in new black vinyl, reattach and rewire the gauges, build the motor, attach the new five speed transmission, put it into the car, attach the motor/battery electronics, put the HIF carb on it and I'm ready to go!.

Of course it will then be time to put the car into winter storage.

Take care.

Just a few little projects, Bruce. Should be done in no time at all. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Yes - you have the right idea. That center bolt requires a nut M7mm - 1.0 -- I lost mine and it too 5 or 6 visits to home depot to find the proper one.

Other 4 are explainatory.

George

PS -- refinishing is no problem. Use lots of spring clips and lots of glue.
