Westfield_XI said:In my case this means no RV's, no inop cars in front or back yards, no vehicles parked more than 7 days w/o moving them, no boats, jet skis, snowmobiles or quads parked outside of the garage and no trailers.
This makes it impossible to part out a car in the traditional manner of leaving it up on blocks in the front yard with a parts for sale sign on it

So, if you go on vacation for two weeks and only take one car, do you have someone come over and move your other cars around for you?Westfield_XI said:elrey said:You folks in the hinterlands have no idea what we have to put up with in our gated communities. Please do not put words into my mouth. I never said anything about hinterlands or implied any snobbery. I worked very hard in my life to be able to afford a home in a nice neighborhood and I will make no apologies for that. I simply stated that things are different in gated communities with strict CC&R's. In my case this means no RV's, no inop cars in front or back yards, no vehicles parked more than 7 days w/o moving them, no boats, jet skis, snowmobiles or quads parked outside of the garage and no trailers.
This makes it impossible to part out a car in the traditional manner of leaving it up on blocks in the front yard with a parts for sale sign on it like I did when I lived out in the Delaware countryside.

I know I live in the boondocks but if I want to burn a pile of old tires in my front yard all I'm going to get for doing it is the neighbors shaking there heads as they drive by. If I want to start a junk yard of old spridgets(wife says I already have!!)the only concern is the valuable land they take up(not that valuable). I know about gated communitys. I wanted to buy a car on fleabay and have it left by the seller at a friend's gated house in Pheonix. No could do cause of gated rules. I don't need gates cause I expect the neighbors to watch out for me and I do the same for them. If need be I'm well armed but if I thought I had to be I would move.
I like the boonies!!
The thing that makes me mad is all my favorite places are getting too crowded!!
