And the march towards electronic actors takes another step

Saw last night on the new, seems that a movie named "As Deep as the Grave" is being released with the departed Val Kilmer in a big part. Not filmed before he passed but his family licensed his image and voice for use and via AI he appears in about 1 hour of the run. What little has been shown on the news, seems to be realistic and not something where you feel there's something wrong with how it moves or talks. So along with the couple of completely AI "actors" out there they've yet to really use, I can see others now coming through that door to have deceased family members reappear. Imaging a new movies with a young John Wayne or Jimmy Stewart or Elizabeth Taylor, or any number of those from the past as families decide they can still make a living for them. Don't know how long it make take to really get going, but as the tech improves and AI "learns" the screen from the past, it'll happen.

Remember the Disneyland Animatronics Lincoln?

I remember seeing it on the Disney show, first thing I noticed was that when it went to stand from the chair, it didn't use it's arms tp make it appear to push to it's feet. but was pretty cool for a little kid otherwise in the 60s. Imagine what we'd have thought if it and the other later Presidents in the show got up, walked around shook hands and such...

Disney animatronics was also at the '64 World Fair...I was impressed.
Here Walt explains how it's done...
