Oh my! I can now hear his version of Roy Orbison's "Crying" in my head.
Sure like this guy over the years.
 
One of my favorite t-shirts..Drove my Chevy to the levy but the levy was gone.. From shortly after the hurricane
 
His best LP was called "Tapestry" (like the Carol King title).
 
It's a frequent request that I get when I do dueling pianos. The song is so darn long...it's like "So, are you planning to stick around for the next 9 minutes?" Of course, "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" is longer at 11 minutes. One time had to do both the male and female parts.

Not that long songs are all that bad. I'd do "Jungleland" by Bruce Springsteen any day of the week...all 9 minutes and 47 seconds of it.
 
American Pie is one of those songs which, when I hear it, takes me back to my "ute". There are certain songs that just make me reminisce of days cruising Colfax Ave in Denver with my high school buds. Just to name a few:

American Pie
Roundabout
Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress
Maggie May
Horse With No Name
Sister Golden Hair

Can't remember. Was "Vincent" on American Pie?

I think I like Tapestry so much because it was so different.

I have a Bob Seger and the Silver Bullets album in High Def. It's a two disk set with 26 total of his greatest hits.
 
Liked most of YES (with Roundabout near the top). But few songs take me back like Maggie May. 1971 or so as I recall.
 
Although I was (and still am) a great Yes fan the thing that takes me back to my university days was Sunday, bloody Sunday by U2. I didn't play it but I think it was the only song my mate in the next room owned. It seemed to be on a permanent loop.
