Aluminum tail pipe section. Does anyone know off a source for the aluminum tail piece? I tried the big 3 and no go, and I have no experience with the overseas gang.

Thanks steve

Jeez - hard to believe such a simple thing could go to unobtainium. Hopefully not a permanent status.

Even when they were readily available I think many were not quite correct - they were just a straight tube whereas I believe the correct part had a greater diameter for the portion that went over the tail pipe.

For me at least they have been somewhat a consumable as that is what scrapes if a drive or curb is too steep. The bottom side of mine are nicely ground down - they get periodically returned to a round condition with the usual tailpipe expansion tool.

Yes I called all over town for the aluminum, but they think I am nuts. I bought one from I think TRF years ago, and I remember Chuck saying I got the last one they had , and Moss lists it as a N/A. It is difficult to believe there is no 2 inch aluminum stock around where people will spend 25.00 a foot for it. My old buddy Barry Nelson knew they were aluminum and he judged concourse when he lived here at the Seattle show. That, the ÂĽ fine thread wings nuts on the battery J bolts, and the original fender bolts were for fine tuning the contest.
