well, the carb is back from the shop - the guy found nothing. reinstalled it and now it's flooding - fuel pouring out of the carb. I'm stumped so I've walked away from it for tonight anyway. Any thoughts gratefully received.
One question though, I forgot to reconnect the vacuum - and after the flooding, fuel was pouring out of the carb end of the vacuum - I presume this is normal since the vacuum would be connected to the barrel of the carb.
