yeah.. maybe the Berkeley fairy will come my way too. Then I could sneak a Hyabusa motor out in my oversized lunch box from work and have a SCREAMER.
Prolly dump the clutch and the tourque would just flip the car over /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
After living with the car for 2 weeks.... It's definately a male. Doesn't listen to anything you say, and has to try it himself... Get's uppitty when you make 'im try on new clothes... Self degenerates when you ask him to get you home - before the "long" drive...
Ok, an update. I changed the dizzy cap and rotor. Problem still there. I didn't get a chance to get a fuel pressure guage today - way busy. But I'll get one tomorrow and check that.
I'll take a wild stab here. When you mentioned the gradual drop in power for some reason the first thing that popped into my mind was a clogged cat converter. Just a guess...
based on the appearance of the rotor you showed us... i gotta ask if you checked your Coil and associated ignition wires... just incase it was effected by the deterioration of the rotor.
I wasn't able to see any debris in the dizzy... Is there an advance mechanism in there that might be getting jammed by a piece of the old rotor? The car idles fine, but boggs down and has no power when you press the accelerator. It will quickly rev with no loads, but ... ??????
I have to agree with Dotanukie on this one. A friend of mine just had the same experience with a Jeep Cherokee. Went through the whole fuel system, replaced fuel pump changed the O2 sensor and still the thing had no power. Another friend took the Jeep and cut out the cat and put in some exhaust pipe temporarily and it got all it's power back.
Would it clog that fast (over about 10-15 miles)? I said it lost power slowly, but in reality it lost power over about 10-15 mile round trip with an hour stop midway. Was running great up until that trip. (includung earlier that day.)
I think the more he stretches his legs, the more he wants to really stretch them...but all the time he spent sitting before & after I saved him from he crusher, is hurting.
hmmm... fuel pressures will say a lot. P'raps the pressure regulator has gone on walkabout. We'll see. Clamp the lines, etc. WELL... you're fussin' with a 30+ PSI fuel system. Second chances art just plain LUCK.
Well... I installed a new fuel filter today... Still no power above 1/4 throttle. I won't have the money for a fuel pressure gauge until next friday. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif And I need to order the $200 gasket set for my toyota soon too. June will be on me before I know it, and we have to have the big vehicle ready to carry us on a gemstone mining vacation for my wife's birthday.
Already paid for a Condo in Panama City for a week in August too.
Oh, well. I need to go clean the crap off the rear shelf of the MGB... Today's a top-down day and I ain't missing it.
Me too - trip to the "beverage" store for some vodka, and went to pick the daughter up from school... Got lots of waves and thumbs up! One from my Mom as we passed each other! She must've been heading to the grocery store.
