Not as idyllic today. Our ice storm has lasted 2 days now - everything is covered with the stuff. Power has been off and on several times. Our driveway is 1/3 mile up to the pavement, uphill, and is ice covered. I can hear trees, limbs, and ice hitting the ground over the noise of the generator.
To counter this we have 4 buckets of sand, 1/2 gallon of brandy, a case of wine, a box of cigars, and a gallon of "15-bean" soup.
Geez, what fun!
Just had a knock on the door - it was a linesman letting us know our power is back! Finally! Luxury!
A fair question. We don't have an automatic transfer switch and the generator was on.
Seriously, glad it is back onGood to hear you're back!
I escaped the 40°F temps here, ran to Miami for Christmas. Mid-80's to overnight low 70's there.
